Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) night shift position, requiring prior travel experience, TN or compact licensure, and hands-on CVICU clinical skills.
Details
- Work setting is a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) within a hospital environment
- Patient population includes cardiovascular and critically ill patients with potential multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Patient ratios: 1:1 in CVICU; 1:2-3 in ICU
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Two weekends per month required
- Floating to other units is required, in accordance with clinical experience and Joint Commission standards
- Charting system: Cerner (preferred, not required)
- Clinical skills include management of IABP, post cardiac surgery patients (non-OR), PA line/Swan-Ganz monitoring, CABG, arterial line management, central line care, continuous IV sedation, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and CVVHD/CRRT
- Preferred skills include Impella management, direct post-cardiac surgery (from OR), valve repair/replacement, and ICP monitoring
Requirements
- Active TN or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
- Current certifications required and in hand: ACLS (AHA), BLS, and NIHSS
- Certifications and licensure must not expire within 45 days of assignment start
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- CVICU or ICU work setting experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and cardiovascular critical care required
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate; candidates within 75 miles may still be considered at a reduced rate
- Candidates who were previously permanent staff at this specific campus are not eligible to return within 24 months; return to a different Covenant Health campus is permitted after 12 months
- RTO is not permitted within the first 14 days of the assignment and cannot exceed 7 days total
- RTO will not be accommodated during the following holiday periods: Valentine's Day, Local Spring Break, Easter, Mother's Day, Memorial Day weekend, Father's Day, Independence Day, Labor Day weekend, Local Fall Break, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's; RTO requests for holidays may be discussed directly with the manager after arriving onsite
- Orientation includes non-billable department modules completed through Covenant Health's internal system
- Married couples or family members who are both traveling may not be placed on the same unit
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position — prior travel experience is required
