Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with 3+ years of experience for an acute care inpatient hospital assignment in Orange, CA, at a Magnet-designated, stroke-certified facility with an orthopedic-heavy caseload.
Details
- Acute care inpatient setting at a 426-bed Magnet-designated, stroke-certified hospital
- Orthopedic-heavy caseload; no wound care required
- Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (8:00–18:30)
- 13-week contract
- Daily caseload of approximately 10 patients
- Patient ratio of 1:10
- Minimum of 2 weekends required per month
- All travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state
- Epic EMR required
- Free parking on-site
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of recent acute care PT experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- CA state PT license required if applicable
- Epic EMR experience required
- Strong skills in orthopedic, neurologic, and cardiopulmonary patient populations
- Proficiency with a wide range of adaptive and assistive devices, mobility aids, and specialty equipment
- Experience with post-stroke rehabilitation, orthopedic post-op care, and general acute care assessments
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and trauma experience preferred
- 2 supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- LA fire card obtained within the last 30 days required
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates who have previously worked at a Providence facility as a permanent employee, traveler, or registry/per-diem must disclose the location(s) and dates worked
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are considered local; local candidates are accepted but at a different pay rate
- Refusal to float between facilities within the state may result in assignment termination
- Must commit to working 3 of the following 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
- RTO requests must be submitted at the time of consideration; scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be accommodated
- No open license or background hits will be approved; any history must be disclosed upfront
