Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring at least 1 year of Level I Trauma ED experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
• Level I Trauma Center setting
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
• 13-week assignment length
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Prior experience in an urban, Level I Trauma ED required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: TNCC, CPI
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Experience managing diverse ED cases including trauma, pediatrics, psychiatric emergencies, and respiratory conditions
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, EKG interpretation, and dysrhythmia management
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and emergency medication administration
• Nursys report required, pulled within the last 2 weeks

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and psychiatric emergencies
• Perform triage and apply isolation precautions/PPE as needed
• Manage orthopedic trauma including splint application
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• RTO limited to a maximum of 7 days, with no more than 3 consecutive days and no RTO during the first or last week of the contract
• Block scheduling is not accommodated
• Former employees of this health system must have separated from employment for at least 7 months before returning as a traveler
