Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring C-EFM certification, Cerner experience, and local candidates within 60 miles.
Details
- Hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 18:50-07:20
- 13-week assignment length
- Float required to Mother/Baby unit, with scrub floating preferred
- Call required, 2 shifts per 6-week schedule
- Every other weekend required
- Cerner charting system used
Requirements
- Active RN license - Compact or MD state license required
- Current certifications: C-EFM (NCC), BLS, NRP, and STABLE required; ACLS preferred
- 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience required, though 2 years with strong experience may be considered
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Scrub experience preferred
- Cerner charting system experience preferred
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Minimum of one completed travel assignment required for consideration
- Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment
- Must support at least 2 years of experience within the previous 3 years
- 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years required
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive Labor & Delivery nursing care including assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, circulating and scrubbing for C-sections, and recovering C-section patients
- Perform fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement/calibration
- Support antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care including NST/OCT testing, lactation support, and newborn assessments
- Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
- Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted
- Candidates must reside within 60 miles for local status, with address matching driver's license
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per 13-week contract
- Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers are not considered for this position; travel experience is required
