Description
American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with at least 1 year of experience in both diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab settings for an acute care hospital position in Florida.
Details
- Work in a 150-bed acute care hospital at a Level III Adult Trauma facility
- Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab setting, with potential for EP Lab work
- Procedures include diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, PCI, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, cardioversion, temporary and permanent pacemaker insertion, tilt table studies, angioplasty and stent placement, dialysis graft interventions (fistulograms/declots), endovascular interventions, and upper and lower extremity angiography
- Preferred experience with special equipment including Impella, Balloon Pump, CSI, Shockwave, and Penumbra
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- Every other weekend required, or approximately 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
- May be required to float to sister facilities if needed
- Charting via Sunrise EMR; no prior experience required
- Experience with the Xper recording platform required
- PACS experience required
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in both diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab settings
- Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
- Experience with PACS required
- Experience with cardioversion, pacemaker insertion, and tilt table studies required
- Experience with angioplasty and stent placement required
- Experience with dialysis graft interventions (fistulograms/declots), endovascular interventions, and upper and lower extremity angiography required
- Experience with the Xper recording platform required
- Active Florida state license or compact license required; pending licenses are not accepted — license required if applicable
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Two references from authority figures (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director) from within the past year required for consideration
- Flu vaccine required; signed medical or religious exemption accepted in lieu
- Candidates who previously held an internal contracted position must have been separated for at least 1 year before being considered
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted at the travel rate with no radius restriction
- All RTO must be finalized and submitted prior to offer; RTO will not be accepted after an offer is made
- Responsibilities include room circulating, scrubbing to maintain sterile field, equipment setup, EKG lead placement, accurate monitoring, access site prep, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
- Preferred skills include venous access, port access and management, central venous access (non-tunneled/PICC lines), and vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
- Travel pairs are accepted if approved by the unit leader, but matching schedules are not guaranteed
- Candidate must be available for lab work within 72 hours of signing
- Orientation includes completion of required modules, which are recorded via the facility's LMS system
- Time keeping is managed via Kronos using a badge swipe system
- Any solid-colored scrubs required — tops and bottoms must match, no logos or prints; travelers are responsible for purchasing their own scrubs
- Free parking is available with a decal provided at orientation
