Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Labor and Delivery night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and active travel nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital environment
• Facility performs 100-300 births per month
• Patient population includes antepartum, high risk antepartum, and mother/baby cases
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (18:45-07:15)
• 13 week assignment length
• Cerner charting experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in labor and delivery management including vaginal delivery, C-section circulation, and high risk delivery assistance
• Experience with fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring
• Experience maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC) preferred
• Experience with amnioinfusion preferred
• Experience with spiral electrode placement and IUPC placement/calibration preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include antepartum and postpartum care, neonatal care in the delivery room, and pain management support
• Assist with high risk deliveries, vaginal deliveries, and C-section procedures
• Provide postpartum care for patients including those with C-section, multiple births, postpartum hemorrhage, and pregnancy induced hypertension
• Perform fetal heart rate monitoring and recognize abnormal patterns
• Must reside outside a 50 mile radius from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Local candidates within the radius are not accepted
• Candidates must submit RTO requests at the time of submission
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing
