Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a dedicated rapid response role requiring 5+ years of ICU experience and a NC or compact RN license.
Details
- Critical Care Service Line unit within a Level II trauma center hospital
- Rapid response team role covering the entire facility rather than a dedicated patient assignment
- Works alongside one core staff member across the house
- Two staff members scheduled per shift, 24/7 coverage
- Uses Cerner EMR
- Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
- 13-week assignment
- Rotating weekend requirement with no on-call responsibilities
- Floating required throughout the facility based on job role
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
- Current certifications: ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- More than 5 years of ICU experience required
- Dedicated rapid response experience highly recommended
- Medical ICU or ED background preferred
- Experience with cardiac arrest, targeted temperature management (TTM), and post-resuscitation care
- Experience with trauma, stroke, and STEMI work-ups
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
Additional Information
- Responsible for responding to rapid response calls throughout the facility
- Works collaboratively with core unit staff to support patients in crisis
- Compassionate personality and strong teamwork skills preferred
- Scrub attire required in royal blue or house scrubs
- Located at a Level II trauma center that is also home to a Level III NICU and children's hospital
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- First-time travelers may be considered if they meet the required ICU experience
