Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 12-hour night shift position requiring at least one completed travel assignment and mixed ICU/Tele patient care experience.

Details

• Work in the ACU/CCU unit of a 226-bed non-profit community hospital with 11 ICU beds
• Care for a mixed patient population including CHF, respiratory distress, ACS, A-fib RVR, DM, CVA overflow, and post-cath patients
• Manage patients on drips such as diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, nitro, and heparin
• Monitor femoral arterial sheaths and TR bands, though travelers will not pull sheaths
• Perform chest tube management, wound vac care, and dressing changes
• Care for some surgical patients including vascular, abdominal, and GI cases
• Unit regularly sees both ICU and Tele level patients
• Uses EPIC EMR
• 12-hour night shift schedule (1900-0730 and 0700-1930)
• 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation required every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to ICU level or below throughout the hospital

Requirements

• Active WA state or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Experience with chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, and monitoring femoral arterial sheaths required
• Art line, Impella, and/or IABP experience preferred
• EPIC EMR experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to a combined ICU and telemedicine patient population
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable as long as they are professional in appearance
• Candidates must have completed at least one prior travel assignment; first-time travelers will not be considered
