Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring Level 1 Trauma and Epic charting experience at a facility in Urbana, IL.

Details

• Work in the Inpatient Overflow Med/Surg unit of a Level 1 Trauma hospital
• Day shift schedule from 7:00AM to 7:30PM
• 36 hours per week across 3 days
• No on-call responsibilities
• Weekend and holiday shifts as needed
• Floating required to similar units
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Epic charting experience required

Additional Information

• Assume responsibility for a designated group of patients utilizing the nursing process and evidence-based practice
• Receive bedside shift report and validate a safe patient room environment at shift change
• Delegate and validate completion of patient care tasks assigned to HCTs
• Complete assessments, interpret vital signs, ensure physician order completion, and manage admissions/discharges
• Administer medications following the 5 Rights of medication administration
• Maintain patient safety through fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, and isolation precautions
• Promptly respond to patient call lights and coordinate care through interdisciplinary collaboration
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Contingent workers may not remain on assignment at this health system for more than 1 year without a 6-month break in service
