Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Level 1 Trauma inpatient overflow unit requiring Epic charting experience and IL RN licensure.

Details

• Inpatient Overflow Med/Surg unit within a Level 1 Trauma hospital
• 12-hour day shifts scheduled 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 3 days per week
• Weekend and holiday shifts as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Will float to similar units
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temp license accepted)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Level 1 Trauma setting experience required
• Strong skills in critical thinking, documentation, interdisciplinary collaboration, time management, and medication administration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including assessments, medication administration, care planning, and patient education
• Receive bedside shift report and validate safe patient room environment at start of each shift
• Delegate and validate completion of patient care tasks assigned to HCTs
• Maintain patient safety through fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation precautions, and ambulation safety
• Support timely admission and discharge processes for Observation status patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote coordinated patient care
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Contingent workers limited to 1 year of continuous assignment before requiring a 6-month break before returning to this health system
