Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring a minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience and an active IL RN license.
Details
- Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital setting
- 13-week contract assignment
- Day shift schedule, 7a to 5p, 4 days per week (40 hours), with a floating day off
- On-call responsibilities for weekend shifts
- Holiday coverage required including on-call and worked rotation
- No floating requirements to other units
- Uses EPIC charting system
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience
- ASN required, BSN preferred
- EPIC charting experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
Additional Information
- Responsible for providing pre-, intra-, and post-operative nursing care for surgical patients
- Prepares OR suite with necessary supplies, equipment, and medications prior to procedures
- Performs patient identification, safety timeouts, and appropriate positioning/prepping for surgical procedures
- Supports the surgical team during procedures by responding to requests for supplies, blood, specimens, and other needs
- Transports patients to and from PACU or designated units and provides handoff report to receiving RN
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
- Returning contingent workers must take a 6-month break in service after 1 year of continuous assignment before returning to this health system
