Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a High Risk Antepartum position in a Level 1 trauma OB Special Care Unit, requiring antepartum, L&D, postpartum, and newborn care experience.
Details
- Work in the OB Special Care Unit of a Level 1 trauma hospital
- Care for high risk antepartum patients as well as L&D, postpartum, and newborn cases
- Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
Requirements
- Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board or multistate compact eNLC)
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, and NRP (all issued by AHA where applicable)
- Minimum of one year of nursing experience required
- Experience with antepartum, L&D, postpartum, and newborn care in a Level 1 trauma setting required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
Additional Information
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and deliver competent patient care
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and treatments, noting all changes in physician orders
- Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
- Obtain and monitor physiological data, observe patient status, and intervene as necessary
- Administer medications and initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products
- Communicate care plans with patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge
- Inform patients and families of hospital procedures
- Refer patient care needs to appropriate personnel and delegate tasks to support staff
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
- Returning workers may only extend contracts once for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
- Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as start dates cannot be pushed once booked
