Description
American Traveler is seeking an RN - ICU for a 13-week travel assignment requiring 2 years of ICU experience and a NM or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in a Level III trauma center's 14-bed Intensive Care Unit
- Adult patient population with 1:1 and 1:2 patient ratios
- Uses Cerner EHR system
- Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- 13-week assignment with 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Required to float to other inpatient nursing units as needed
Requirements
- Active RN license (New Mexico or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications through AHA: BLS, ACLS, and PALS required (TNCC preferred but flexible)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
Additional Information
- Provide intensive care nursing to adult ICU patients in a Level III trauma center setting
- Facility offers a childbirth center, cancer center, nephrology unit, pediatric unit, inpatient behavioral health unit, and day surgery center
- Located in the San Juan River Valley in northwest New Mexico, offering access to hiking, kayaking, and historical sightseeing
- Approximately 1 hour drive to Durango, CO and 3 hours to Albuquerque, NM

Pros
Unit is comprised of many travelers. Core staff and travelers have all been fantastic! The unit is set up quite well to manage the surges of patients. It is the only main hospital around so it can definitely provide good experience. Most of the providers I've encountered over the last couple months actually listen to the nurses and are easy to work with.
Cons
It is definitely busy before the size of the town. I can't say I have any other cons.
