Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Illinois RN licensure and Trauma Level 2 experience.
Details
- Work in the Emergency Department of a Trauma Level 2 or higher hospital
- Night shift schedule from 3:00PM to 3:00AM
- 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
- Every other weekend (EOW) shift requirement
- Holiday coverage on a rotation basis
- 2 call shifts required per 6-week schedule period, with 13-hour call shifts and expectation to be onsite within one hour
- 2-week nights rotation required of all travelers
- No block scheduling available
- Uses EPIC EMR system
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (American Heart Association)
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant nursing experience required
- ASN required, BSN preferred
- Trauma Level 2 experience required
- EPIC charting experience required
- TNCC certification highly preferred
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Emergency Department setting
- Complete initial patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care based on patient and family needs
- Implement and modify nursing interventions based on continuous patient evaluation
- Collaborate with providers, patients, and families to execute and adjust care plans
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient documentation
- Promote patient and staff safety by identifying, reporting, and correcting hazards
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with staff, visitors, and families to support a healing environment
- Offer peer feedback and engage in ongoing professional development
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
