Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Illinois RN licensure and Trauma Level 2 experience.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of a Trauma Level 2 or higher hospital
• Night shift schedule from 3:00PM to 3:00AM
• 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• Every other weekend (EOW) shift requirement
• Holiday coverage on a rotation basis
• 2 call shifts required per 6-week schedule period, with 13-hour call shifts and expectation to be onsite within one hour
• 2-week nights rotation required of all travelers
• No block scheduling available
• Uses EPIC EMR system

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (American Heart Association)
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Trauma Level 2 experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• TNCC certification highly preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Emergency Department setting
• Complete initial patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care based on patient and family needs
• Implement and modify nursing interventions based on continuous patient evaluation
• Collaborate with providers, patients, and families to execute and adjust care plans
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient documentation
• Promote patient and staff safety by identifying, reporting, and correcting hazards
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with staff, visitors, and families to support a healing environment
• Offer peer feedback and engage in ongoing professional development
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
