Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring a CA RN license and a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.
Details
- Hospital-based Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
- Every other weekend requirement
- On-call/call-off responsibilities based on census
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- BSN required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA or ARC accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required (hard requirement)
- Experience with IV therapy, central/arterial/PICC line management, and blood product administration
- Ventilator management and respiratory care experience, including BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
- Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Experience with continuous IV sedation, paralytics, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and IV insulin protocols preferred
- Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and hypothermia protocols
- Epic EMR experience required
- 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to ICU patients, including cardiac, respiratory, renal, neurological, and GI cases
- Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, phlebotomy, and infection prevention/isolation precautions
- Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day, with only one holiday RTO request approved per contract
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
- Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
- Returning employees must have a minimum 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers considered if all experience and licensure requirements are met
- Lab work must be completed within 3-5 days of contract signing
- 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
