Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Long Term Care/Assisted Living position in Rochester, MN, requiring an active MN RN license and at least 2 years of relevant experience.

Details

  • Assisted living and short-term rehabilitation setting within a long term care facility
  • 12-hour shifts, either 6AM-6PM or 6PM-6AM
  • 36 hours per week over 3 days
  • Every 3rd weekend required
  • 13-week assignment length
  • Uses Epic EMR for charting
  • On-site work required with no teleworking option
  • Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment due to low census

Requirements

  • Active RN license in Minnesota required, no pending licenses accepted
  • BLS certification through AHA or American Red Cross required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience in applicable care setting required, or 3 total travel assignments
  • Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate, associate, or diploma nursing program (ACEN or CCNE accredited)
  • If nursing program was not ACEN/CCNE accredited, at least 1 year of RN experience within the last 5 years in an applicable care setting is required
  • If graduation did not occur within the last two years, 1 year of RN experience in an applicable care setting is required
  • Long term care experience preferred
  • COVID vaccination and booster required

Additional Information

  • Coordinate nursing care including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care
  • Function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, accountable for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care
  • Provide leadership through preceptor roles, informal leadership, and quality improvement efforts
  • Delegate patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, and resource adequacy
  • Participate on committees or projects as needed
  • Travelers may remain on assignment up to one calendar year from initial start date, after which a 30-60 day break is required before returning to a new assignment
