Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Step Down Unit night shift position requiring 2+ years of recent high-acuity bedside experience and vasopressor titration skills.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting with 233 staffed beds
- Step Down Unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- 13-week contract length
- Required to work 2 shifts every other weekend (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday, based on rotation)
- No on-call responsibilities
- Float to lower acuity floors within scope as needed
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required (no issuance if tied to another compact state)
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Must have worked at the bedside within the last 6 months
- Some ICU experience or high-acuity stepdown experience required due to unit acuity
- Recent travel RN experience within the last 6 months required
- Trauma Level II experience required
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Required skills: titration of vasopressors, sedation medications, insulin drips, trach vents, arterial lines, external pacemakers, and chest tubes
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care for high-acuity step-down patients including cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and renal cases
- Navy scrub color required
- No parking costs at this facility
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- No local candidates accepted
- Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to this health system as a traveler
- Standard travelers must complete a 3-month break in service after an 18-month assignment period
- Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
- Any RTO of 7+ days requires manager approval
