Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with 2+ years of experience in cardiac catheterization and EP procedures, requiring RCIS, RT, or RCES certification.
Details
- Acute care setting in a combined Cardiac Cath Lab and EP unit
- Unit includes 2 suites for Cath Lab and 1 for vascular procedures
- Average of 22 total cases per day between Cath Lab and EP, with potential for up to 15 add-on cases
- Patient population includes right and left heart catheterization with or without intervention, structural heart, and vascular cases
- Procedures include TAVR, mitral clip, and cases requiring knowledge of IABP and Impella insertion
- Uses EPIC EMR along with MacLab and GE Imaging equipment
- 10-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM with call responsibilities
- Call requirement of 8-10 days within a 6-week period
- May float to the EP lab as part of a combined-unit, one-team approach
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Cath Lab and EP procedures
- Current ACLS, BLS, and ARRT certifications required
- RCIS, RT, or RCES certification required
- License required if applicable
- Must have procedural experience with the ability to scrub, monitor, and document
- Experience with sedation and Phase 1 recovery preferred
- ICU or PACU experience a plus
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Experience with GE imaging equipment preferred
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include scrubbing and documenting during cardiac and EP procedures
- Unit supported by a Charge Nurse, Lead Technologist, Supervisor, and Director
- Team-oriented environment with a strong emphasis on collaboration across Cath Lab and EP
- May occasionally work past scheduled end time to complete all cases
- Scrubs are provided
- Unit-specific orientation lasts 1 week
- Strong preference for candidates who are team players
