Description

American Traveler is hiring a night-shift CT Technologist with 2+ years of experience and ARRT (CT) certification for an acute care hospital serving a complex trauma and Alaska Native patient population.

Details

  • Community hospital setting serving both inpatient and outpatient CT patients, with most caseload from inpatient and ED
  • Adult ICU, Level II Trauma Center (Level I trauma experience preferred)
  • Patient population includes complex social histories, domestic violence cases, and requires cultural sensitivity to the Alaska Native population
  • Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts, 19:00-07:00, typically Thursday-Saturday
  • On-call requirement
  • Weekend coverage not typical but possible if needed
  • No floating within scope or to sister facilities required
  • CT procedures include abdomen, pelvis, head/neck, chest, spine, musculoskeletal, CT arthrography, myelography, CTAs, and multiplanar reconstruction
  • Uses GE CT equipment (Toshiba equipment experience preferred)
  • Cerner charting system used (Epic experience preferred)

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience required
  • ARRT Advanced certification required (hard stop requirement)
  • ARRT (CT) and ARRT (R) certification required
  • BLS certification required
  • Community hospital and Level II Trauma Center experience required; Level I Trauma experience preferred
  • Cerner charting experience required; Epic experience preferred
  • Skills required include IV starts, contrast administration, venipuncture, radiation safety, and isolation precautions/PPE
  • Proficiency in image display and post-processing, including 3D rendering, multiplanar reconstruction, and ROI measurement
  • Experience with abdomen/pelvis CT studies including contrast studies, colorectal studies, and enterography
  • Experience with head/neck, spine, musculoskeletal, and chest CT procedures including vascular CTA
  • License required if applicable
  • Candidates must live outside a 100-mile radius of the facility to be considered
  • Prior travelers must have been gone from the facility for at least 2 years before returning

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position
  • Seasoned technologist needed with strong knowledge of trauma, angio, ED, inpatient, outpatient, and special procedures such as biopsy and drainage
  • Preferred experience includes NICU and PICU work settings
  • Preferred skills include PACS, brain perfusion, aspirations, and drainage procedures
  • Acute Care Hospital and Magnet-designated facility with 152 staffed beds
  • Scrubs of any color or pattern are permitted, except in L&D/OR where scrubs are provided
  • No cost for parking, with a nearby parking structure available
  • COVID vaccination compliance required for consideration
  • Compact license accepted at time of submission, but an Alaska state license is required prior to starting for this acute specialty position
