Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry Unit position requiring high-risk cardiac telemetry experience and night shift availability.
Details
- ospital-designated Acute Care Hospital Telemetry Unit with 40 staffed beds
- 40-bed unit within a 222-bed acute care Magnet-designated hospital
- Patient ratios of 1:5-6
- Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 18:45-7:15), with 3x12 or 4x12 schedules approved
- Every other weekend required, averaging 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within scope to all inpatient units across both campuses
- EPIC charting system required
- Navy scrub color required
Requirements
- L license required, license in hand at time of application
- Active BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with strong cardiac background
- High-risk telemetry experience required
- Cardiac drip management experience required
- Sheath pull experience required
- Central line management experience required
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy care
- Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
- Pre/post cardiac surgery experience
Additional Information
- Provide cardiac telemetry nursing care including dysrhythmia monitoring and management
- Perform sheath removals and manage cardiac drips (no titration)
- Administer and monitor procedural sedation
- Manage central lines and provide IV therapy/phlebotomy
- First-time travelers are accepted for this role
- Local candidates are not accepted; must reside outside a 75-mile radius
- RTO limited to no more than 7 days per contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of assignment
- Returning travelers must complete an 18-month tenure limit followed by a 3-month break in service
- Former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any affiliated facility as a traveler
- Facial hair must allow for proper respirator fit testing or must be shaved
