Description
American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Medical RN with level 1 trauma experience and PALS certification for a hospital position caring for patients from newborn to 18 years.
Details
- Pediatric Medical unit within a hospital setting
- Cares for a wide range of ages from newborn through 18 years across a variety of diagnoses
- No specific patient population focus, so broad experience including respiratory and GI conditions is preferred
- Some patients have trachs and require home ventilator care
- Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours)
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by Oklahoma or current multistate compact (eNLC) license
- BLS and PALS certification from the American Heart Association required
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Up to 1 year of Level I trauma experience required
- Experience with tracheostomy and home ventilator patients required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Additional Information
- Provides nursing care to an assigned group of pediatric patients ranging from simple to complex health needs
- Documents patient responses to interventions and communicates changes in physician orders
- Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Administers medications and manages IV infusions and blood products
- Coordinates care plans with patients and families through discharge
- Delegates tasks to support staff as needed
- Facility maintains strict compliance deadlines and does not allow push starts
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
- Returning workers may only extend once for a total of 26 weeks and require a 6-month separation before reapplying
