Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and AWHONN Intermediate or CEFM certification.

Details

• Hospital-based Labor and Delivery unit within the Women's and Children's building
• 12-bed unit with a 1:2 patient ratio
• Unit staffed with RNs, unit secretary, and OR techs
• Uses CPN and Meditech documentation systems
• 13-week assignment with a 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM shift schedule
• Schedule includes three 12-hour shifts, three weekend shifts, and one call shift for RNs
• Travelers float first per unit policy
• Unit follows a shared decision-making model for patient experience

Requirements

• Active RN license (Standard or Compact) currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate (not Advanced) or CEFM
• Experience with care of the laboring patient and immediate newborn care required
• Experience circulating and recovering C-section patients required
• Skilled in procedures including vaginal deliveries, C-sections, D&C, cerclage, epidural anesthesia, and tub labor
• No work history gaps of 90+ days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (Canadian SSNs not accepted)
• One professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients and newborns immediately following delivery
• Circulate and recover cesarean section patients as part of daily unit responsibilities
• Scrub colors required: Ceil Blue, Navy Blue, or Gray (not provided by facility)
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
