Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring EPIC charting experience and a minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital environment
• Night shift schedule from 1:00PM-1:00AM
• 36 hours per week over 3 twelve-hour shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• 2-week nights rotation required of all travelers
• No block scheduling available
• On-call requirement of 2 call shifts per 6-week schedule period, with expectation of onsite arrival within one hour
• Uses EPIC EMR system

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (American Heart Association)
• Minimum three years of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Trauma Level 2 or higher experience preferred
• TNCC certification highly preferred

Additional Information

• Serve as primary caregiver for a designated group of ED patients, utilizing the nursing process to deliver care
• Perform initial patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care in collaboration with providers, patients, and families
• Implement and modify nursing interventions based on continuous patient evaluation
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient documentation
• Collaborate with staff, visitors, and families to promote a healthy and healing work environment
• Identify and correct safety hazards to ensure patient and staff safety
• Provide peer feedback to support professional development within the team
• Position is classified as high-risk department due to Emergency Department setting
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• RTO limited to no more than 7 total days during the 13-week contract
• Temporary RN license accepted for this position
