Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring C-EFM certification and compact or MD RN licensure.
Details
- Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 18:50-07:20
- Every other weekend required
- Call required, 2 shifts per 6-week schedule
- Floating required to Mother/Baby and scrub duties (scrub preferred)
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Uses Cerner charting system
Requirements
- Active RN license (Compact or MD) required
- Current certifications required: C-EFM (NCC), BLS, NRP, and STABLE
- ACLS certification preferred
- 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience preferred; 2 years with strong experience may be considered
- 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years required
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Scrub experience preferred
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- Must have completed at least one previous travel assignment
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive labor and delivery care including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum management
- Assist with vaginal and high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and related surgical procedures
- Perform fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal heart rate monitoring and IUPC placement
- Administer medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives as needed
- Support newborn care including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and initial assessments
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- 26-week contract assignments are accepted
- Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a lower pay rate
- Candidates must reside within a 60-mile radius to be considered for standard travel rate eligibility
- No more than 7 days of requested time off permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Previous MedStar employees must have a minimum one-year separation before returning as a traveler
