Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2+ years of experience, AWHONN Intermediate certification, and a CO or compact RN license.

Details

  • >Works in a fast-paced Women's and Infants Labor and Delivery unit averaging 150 births per month
  • 14 staffed beds with a 1:2 patient ratio
  • Day shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts (6:15 AM to 6:45 PM)
  • Weekend shifts required per unit needs
  • On-call responsibilities required per unit needs
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • Navy scrubs required
  • Responsibilities include circulating in the OR, placing internal fetal monitors, OB triage, and managing laboring and high-risk OB patients

Requirements

  • Active RN license (CO state or compact) currently in hand
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery RN experience required
  • Current certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate (AWHONN Advanced alone will not be accepted)
  • AWHONN Fetal Monitoring (FM) course required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted if experience requirements are met

Additional Information

  • Care for antepartum, high-risk antepartum, and postpartum patients including management of pre-eclampsia, PPH, VBAC, and multiple gestation cases
  • Perform skills including sterile vaginal exams, NST/OCT testing, EFM use, amnioinfusion, and assisting with vaginal and C-section deliveries
  • Provide neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, and thermoregulation
  • Support newborn care including newborn assessment, phototherapy, and discharge teaching
  • Administer medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives as needed
  • Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract
  • RTO is not permitted during specified blackout periods throughout the assignment
  • No blocked scheduling requests allowed
  • Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility may be considered at the local rate
  • Previous charge experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
