Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring 18 months of PCU experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit within a 241-bed Level 3 Trauma teaching-affiliated hospital
• 32-bed unit treating CHF, dysrhythmia, chest pain workup, stroke, abdominal illness, respiratory illness, diabetes, AKI/CKD, ETOH withdrawal, and IVDA patients not requiring mechanical ventilation
• RN staffing ratio typically 1:4, possibly up to 1:5 depending on acuity
• 12-hour night shift schedule (1900-0700), 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation on a 6-week schedule cycle
• Low census call possible, with callback up to 3a for nights or 3p for days
• Floating required within Region 3 (Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, Central Division including CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH) as needed within scope of practice
• Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors
• 24/7 support from RT, hospitalist, and intensivist teams, plus charge nurse, CNA, phlebotomy, and IV/VAT support

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 18 months of PCU RN experience required
• Skills required include trach care, cardiac drip management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood product administration, wound care/dressing changes, and central line management
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for travel rate
• Previous employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year following a permanent position before reapplying
