Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist with 3+ years of experience and ARRT (CT) certification for a hospital-based CT Scan department.
Details
- Work in a hospital CT Scan department performing CT procedures and related imaging techniques
- 1st shift schedule, Monday-Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week
- Call, weekend, and holiday coverage required
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience required
- At least 1 year of mammography diagnostic experience required
- Associate's degree from a JRCERT-accredited Radiology Program, or military training graduate of a JRCERT-accredited program validated by active ARRT certification
- Current BLS certification required
- Current ARRT Registry in Radiography RT(R) required
- Current ARRT (CT) certification required
- Current Commonwealth of Kentucky Radiation License with the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy required, if applicable
- Must maintain continuing education hours as required by licensing agency
- Strong eye-hand coordination and attention to detail required
- Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills required
Additional Information
- Perform CT procedures, computer processing, and related techniques to produce diagnostic images for interpretation by licensed practitioners
- Verify patient orders, identity, and history prior to exams
- Perform and document peripheral venipuncture when necessary
- Document patient care incidents, medications, contrast reactions, and infiltrates in the electronic health record
- Perform and document time-out procedures for invasive exams
- Continuously monitor patients throughout exams and apply radiation protection using ALARA principles
- Adjust exam protocols for pediatric patients in accordance with ACR Image Gently guidelines
- Assist radiologists and authorized providers with exams and procedures as needed
- Produce quality images for radiologist review and verify image archiving to PACS
- Assist with training new employees on equipment functionality and exam protocols
- Provide supervision and instruction to imaging students during clinical rotations
- Complete daily equipment warm-up and quality control checks
- Wear assigned personal dosimetry
- Stay current on regulatory standards and participate in ACR accreditation activities as needed
