Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 5 years of ER experience and Trauma Level II experience.

Details

• Hospital Emergency Department setting with Trauma Level II designation
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:30 to 07:00
• Required to work every other weekend
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (AHA or ARC accepted)
• Minimum 5 years of ER experience required
• Trauma Level II hospital experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
• Skilled in interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Experienced in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line care/management
• Experienced with emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and continuous IV sedation
• Skilled in procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and dysrhythmia management
• Knowledgeable in isolation precautions/PPE and triage protocols

Additional Information

• Provide emergency department nursing care including triage, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response
• Manage patients requiring respiratory support, IV therapy, and central line care
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation and emergency medications
• Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Returning employees must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible to return as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
