Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Surgical ICU position requiring current post-op cardiac surgery recovery experience and a compact or MD RN license.
Details
- Work in an 18-bed dedicated Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CVSICU) within a hospital setting
- Provide care for patients recovering from cardiac surgery, cardiac transplantation, lung transplantation, ventricular assist device placement, and other complex procedures
- Nurse to patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2
- Rotating 7A/7P shift schedule, with straight PM also available
- Uses ventilators, CRRT, Swan-Ganz catheters, epicardial wires/pacemakers, vasoactive drip titration, Level 1 IABP, and ECMO
Requirements
- Active RN license (Compact or Maryland) currently in hand
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS and Critical Care Certification preferred
- Current experience with post-op cardiac surgery patient recovery in an ICU setting required
- Experience trained and worked in a dedicated Open-Heart Unit receiving patients directly from the OR required
- Hands-on experience with vent management, CRRT, Swan-Ganz catheters, epicardial wires/pacemakers, vasoactive drip titration, Level 1 IABP, and ECMO required
- Prior experience in a comparable facility size (500+ bed hospital) required
- Trauma course experience and Epic EMR experience preferred
Additional Information
- Deliver specialized critical care nursing to complex cardiac and transplant surgical patients
- Orientation sessions held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month
- Strong, highly qualified candidates are preferred given the acuity and complexity of this unit
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
