Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Surgical ICU position requiring dedicated open-heart unit experience and ECMO/IABP skills.

Details

  • Work in an 18-bed Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CVSICU) within a hospital setting
  • Care for patients recovering from cardiac surgery, cardiac transplantation, lung transplantation, ventricular assist device placement, and other complex procedures
  • Nurse to patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2
  • Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Shift options include AM/PM rotation or straight PM

Requirements

  • Active RN license (MD state or Compact) currently in hand
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS and Critical Care Certification preferred
  • Current experience recovering post-op cardiac surgery patients in an ICU setting required
  • Experience with ventilators, CRRT, Swan-Ganz catheters, epicardial wires/pacemakers, vasoactive drip titration, Level 1 IABP, and ECMO required
  • Trauma course experience preferred
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred
  • Experience in a dedicated Open-Heart Unit receiving patients directly from the OR required
  • Experience in a facility with 500+ bed count required

Additional Information

  • Provide direct post-surgical recovery care for complex cardiac and lung transplant patients
  • Orientation occurs on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month
  • Accepts local candidates at the same pay rate
