Description

American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for a NICU position requiring at least 1 year of Level III NICU experience and NRP/BLS certification.

Details

  • Work in a 108-bed NICU located on the 4th floor of the North Tower
  • Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:4
  • Unit staffed with RNs, LVNs, PCTs, and Nurse Externs
  • Utilizes equipment including Nasal Cannula, Bubble CPAP, Vents, Oscillators, IV pumps, NIRS, Warmers, and Isolettes
  • Charting completed in CPN and Meditech
  • Schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts per week with rotating weekends and holidays
  • Contract staff float before regular staff, potentially to PICU, Pediatrics, or CICU caring for patients under 2 years old
  • Shift hours run from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Texas or Compact) required
  • Current certifications in NRP and BLS required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Level III NICU experience required
  • Experience with preemies at 28 weeks gestation and above required
  • Experience managing central lines and respiratory management up to and including intubated patients required
  • Experience with surgical patients, cardiac patients, infants under 27 weeks, trach infants, and broviacs preferred
  • Familiarity with procedures such as central line insertions, circumcisions, exploratory laps, gastroschisis reductions, and PDA ligations preferred
  • US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
  • One professional reference required

Additional Information

  • Provide direct nursing care to critically ill neonates in a Level III NICU setting
  • Required uniform consists of royal blue scrubs
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
  • No gaps in work history totaling 90 days or more within the past 12 months
