Description

American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for a NICU position requiring at least 1 year of Level III NICU experience and current NRP/BLS certification.

Details

• Work in a 108-bed NICU located in the North Tower of the hospital
• Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:4
• Unit is staffed with RNs, LVNs, PCTs, and Nurse Externs
• Uses equipment including Nasal Cannula, Bubble CPAP, Vents, Oscillators, IV pumps, NIRS, Warmers, and Isolettes
• Documentation systems used are CPN and Meditech
• Schedule consists of 3x12-hour night shifts (7P-7A) per week with rotating weekends and holidays
• Contract staff float before core staff to PICU, Pediatrics, and CICU for patients under 2 years of age
• Care for surgical and cardiac patients, including preemies 28 weeks and above, trach infants, and patients with broviacs
• Unit performs procedures including central line insertions, circumcisions, exploratory laps, gastroschisis reductions, and PDA ligations

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and NRP (Advanced 9th Edition)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Level III NICU experience required
• Experience with preemies 28 weeks and above required
• Experience managing central lines and respiratory management up to and including intubated patients required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide direct care to a complex NICU patient population including surgical, cardiac, and preemie infants
• Required uniform is royal blue scrubs
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for consideration
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
