Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist with at least 1 year of Cath Lab experience, including peripheral angiogram/run-off procedures.
Details
- Level I Trauma teaching hospital with Magnet designation, Chest Pain Center, and Stroke Center
- Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory with 4 cardiac rooms and 3 vascular rooms
- Cardiac cases include NON-STEMI, STEMI, TAVR, Watchman, and Mitral Clip procedures
- Vascular cases mostly include lower extremity angiograms, EVAR, and TEVAR procedures
- Uses EPIC EMR, Merge Hemo hemodynamic system, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, Philips monitors, and Philips/GE/Siemens X-ray equipment
- PACS system is ISCV; manifold equipment used
- 4x10 hour day shifts from 0730-1800 on a 4-week schedule cycle
- No floating required
- On-call requirements for both cardiac and vascular coverage discussed further during interview
- Vascular on-call: two weekends per month and two weekday calls per month with a 1-hour response time
- Cardiac on-call: one call night per week and every 5th weekend with a 30-minute response time
- Weekend rotation reviewed during interview process
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of Cath Lab experience required
- Required peripheral angiogram/run-off experience
- Preferred experience with endografts, EVAR, and TEVAR procedures; willingness to be trained if not already experienced
- Preferred experience in Interventional Radiology or working alongside vascular surgeons
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- ARRT-R or RCIS certification required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- License required if applicable
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel positioning
Additional Information
- Perform cardiac and vascular catheterization procedures including STEMI/NON-STEMI intervention, structural heart procedures, and peripheral vascular angiography
- Department support includes a traffic flow coordinator, charge nurse, VAD team, RT for emergencies, ECMO team, and code team
- Orientation includes 1 week before taking call, 2 days of departmental orientation, ACE modules, and EPIC testing/modules
- Travelers will be expected to work at least one holiday during the contract, if applicable
- RTO requires manager approval; travelers cover each other's RTO which may result in additional call coverage
- Green scrubs provided

- Positive unit culture noted by current staff
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Clinical interview with the hiring manager required, with further discussion of call responsibilities in a second interview
- Returning candidates must be separated from any facility within the health system for at least 1 year following a permanent position
