Description
American Traveler is hiring an Inpatient Occupational Therapist with 2+ years of experience for an acute care hospital setting utilizing Cerner EMR.
Details
- Inpatient/acute care Occupational Therapy unit within a 189-bed hospital
- Diverse adult and geriatric patient population including orthopedic, neurological, medical, and pulmonary complications cases
- Hand therapy is a significant component of the caseload
- Facility includes an off-site outpatient center located 2.5 miles away for OT, PT, and ST services
- Cerner (upgraded version) EMR used for charting
- Schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week
- Floating required across inpatient, outpatient, and home health OT settings
- No holiday coverage required for this position
Requirements
- Active State or Compact OT license required (license required if applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of experience preferred; candidates with less experience may be considered
- Current BLS certification required
- Acute care hospital experience preferred
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
Additional Information
- Work alongside a therapy leadership team including a lead inpatient therapist, therapy supervisor, and Director of Rehab Services
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary inpatient team including PTs, PTAs, COTAs, and OTRs
- General department orientation provided with a skills checklist and assigned clinician
- Facility holds JCAHO Stroke Certification (NIH certified) and offers a Total Joint Program (TJP) for elective hip and knee procedures
- Participate in an Early Mobility Program, including Level 2 vent early mobility protocols
- Scrub requirement includes burgundy polo or long-sleeve shirt with black pants and shoes
- Located near Yosemite, Monterey Bay, San Francisco, and the Sierra Nevada range, offering scenic weekend getaway options
- First-time travelers may be considered for this position
