Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a Level III Trauma Center, requiring ARRT-CT certification and acute care experience in a fast-paced imaging department.
Details
- Imaging Department with 3 CT suites in a 375-bed Level III Trauma Center
- Day shift patient population includes general, diagnostic, interventional, ER, and critical cases
- Evening/night shift patient population is approximately 90% ER and ICU patients
- Over 100 patients seen in a 24-hour period
- Uses EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, MedRad injector, and Change Healthcare PACS
- Equipment includes Siemens Dual Source CT 128 Flash, Definition 64 (interventional CT), and Definition Edge 128 in the ER, with no prior equipment experience required
- 12-hour day shift schedule with weekend rotation (Friday 0900-2130, Saturday & Sunday 1300-0130)
- 36 hours per week
- On-call requirement of 1-2 shifts per month, 7p-7a
- Holiday coverage required every other holiday
- Minimal to no floating required
Requirements
- BLS and ARRT-CT & R certifications required
- WA state license required, if applicable
- Acute care hospital experience required
- Experience in a large Level III+ trauma facility preferred, especially for first-time travelers
- Cardiac CT experience preferred
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment required
- Critical access-only experience not accepted
Additional Information
- Support team includes a Lead CT Tech, Respiratory Therapy, Hospitalist, Radiologist (IR MD/PA support during CT cases), and RRT
- CT transporter available except between 4am-9am
- Staffing includes up to 5 CT techs during business hours and 3 CT techs after 5pm
- Radiologist present onsite during the day and offsite at night
- Nitro administered prior to cardiac CT cases
- Orientation includes facility-wide NEO plus at least 1 week in the department
- Schedule follows a repeating cycle with minor variations
- Shift time changes cannot be accommodated unless an alternate shift is already posted
- RTO requests must be approved by the manager
- Scrubs may be any color with a professional appearance, no logos or designs permitted
- Free parking provided
- First-time travelers considered if they have broad experience in a large Level III+ facility
- COVID vaccination required
