Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Operating Room position requiring an active KY or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Details

• Work in a multidiscipline surgical services department with four operating rooms and four procedure rooms serving over 9,000 patients per year
• Services include endoscopy, pain management, ENT, general surgery, hand and foot procedures, and orthopedic procedures
• Day shift schedule, 10-hour variable shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• 40 hours per week, 5 days per week
• Requires 1 weekend shift per month
• Requires 2 call shifts per month
• Holiday shift coverage required if a holiday falls within the contract period

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and PALS certifications required per department compliance
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with interdisciplinary care team members
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety measures

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care through nursing rounds, assessments, treatments, and care coordination in the operating room setting
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments considering culture, age, and developmental level
• Implement patient care therapies and procedures within RN scope of practice
• Facilitate patient discharge process including discharge teaching and coordination with case management
• Delegate and oversee tasks performed by other care team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures such as patient satisfaction and safety metrics
• Promote a positive, healing environment through evidence-based nursing practice
