Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Operating Room position requiring an active KY or compact RN license and BLS certification.
Details
- Work in a multidiscipline surgical services department with four operating rooms and four procedure rooms serving over 9,000 patients per year
- Services include endoscopy, pain management, ENT, general surgery, hand and foot procedures, and orthopedic procedures
- Day shift schedule, 10-hour variable shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- 40 hours per week, 5 days per week
- Requires 1 weekend shift per month
- Requires 2 call shifts per month
- Holiday shift coverage required if a holiday falls within the contract period
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact)
- BLS certification required
- ACLS and PALS certifications required per department compliance
- ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
- No prior nursing experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with interdisciplinary care team members
- Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety measures
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care through nursing rounds, assessments, treatments, and care coordination in the operating room setting
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments considering culture, age, and developmental level
- Implement patient care therapies and procedures within RN scope of practice
- Facilitate patient discharge process including discharge teaching and coordination with case management
- Delegate and oversee tasks performed by other care team members
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures such as patient satisfaction and safety metrics
- Promote a positive, healing environment through evidence-based nursing practice
