Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Operating Room position requiring a KY or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Details

• Works in a multidiscipline surgical services department with four operating rooms and four procedure rooms serving over 9,000 patients annually
• Provides care for endoscopy, pain management, ENT, general surgery, hand and foot, and orthopedic procedures
• Day shift schedule with variable start times, mainly 10:45-11:15 but sometimes 6:30-7:00 or 8:30-9:00, working 12-hour shifts three days per week
• Requires one weekend shift per month
• Requires two call shifts per month
• Requires holiday shift coverage if a holiday falls within the contract dates

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS and PALS certification required
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care throughout the surgical process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments considering culture, age, and developmental level
• Educate patients and families on procedures, treatments, and discharge planning
• Delegate and oversee patient care tasks performed by other team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measure initiatives
• Collaborate closely with an interprofessional care team to coordinate individualized treatment plans
