Description
American Traveler is hiring a Burn ICU RN with required ICU and travel experience for a 12-hour day/evening shift assignment at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital.
Details
- Work in the Burn Intensive Care Unit (BICU) of a Level II Trauma teaching hospital
- Patient ratio of 1:3
- Day/evening shifts, 3x12 hours between 0700-1930, with every other weekend and some holidays
- 4x12 schedules will also be considered
- Uses Epic charting system
- Floating required as needed
- Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only) required; PALS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of acute care ICU experience within the last 3 years required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required, ideally within the past 12 months
- Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I and teaching hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, central/PICC/arterial line management, and blood product administration
- Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and chest tube care
- Experience managing complex wounds or burns and thermoregulation (hypothermia/hyperthermia) preferred
- Skilled in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and managing continuous IV sedation/paralytics
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to burn ICU patients, including those with complex wounds, multisystem organ dysfunction, and respiratory failure
- Located at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital ranked as Wisconsin's #1 hospital
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
- References are not required for consideration
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this assignment due to required travel experience
