Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro Telemetry position requiring NIH Stroke Certification and an active TX or compact RN license

Details

• Work in the Neuro Tele unit of a hospital setting
• Care for neurological patients including stroke, seizure, and other neurological disorders
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract assignment
• Rotating weekends with a commitment to work 2 weekend days, with flexibility as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required as needed based on unit needs
• Uses Meditech documentation system

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact license required; temporary licenses not accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent hospital experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Experience with neuro-stroke, seizure, and other neurological disorders preferred
• Cardiac and neuro-surgical experience preferred
• Meditech charting experience preferred

Additional Information

• Perform peripheral IV starts, Foley catheter, and NGT insertions as part of daily patient care
• Chart patient information using the Meditech system
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this travel position
• Navy scrub top and pants with navy or white scrub jacket required per unit dress code
• Body art must be covered whenever possible and visible piercings other than ears are prohibited
