Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Ambulatory OR RN requiring 2+ years of experience and a South Carolina or Compact RN license.
Details
- Work in an Ambulatory Operating Room setting with 9 ORs
- Day shift schedule, either 3x12s (6:30a-7p) or 4x10s (6:30a-5p), with one late shift required per 4 weeks to complete cases
- No weekend requirements
- No on-call requirements
- Possibility of floating within the Perioperative facility
- Block scheduling may be accommodated at manager's discretion
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Uses Epic charting system
- May be required to precept a care team member in the operating room
Requirements
- Active SC or Compact RN license required
- BLS certification required (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Preferred surgical specialty experience includes Ophthalmology, Ortho, ENT, GYN, GU, Endocrine, and Surgical Oncology
- Radiation badge required, to be provided by the agency
- Valid driver's license and SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Must reside within 60 miles of the facility to meet the local radius requirement, though non-local candidates are prioritized
- Local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate
- Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application, with approval based on facility needs
- May be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November, with peak activity in August and September)
- One shift may be called off per 2-week period, which may be split across multiple shifts
