Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Ambulatory OR RN requiring 2+ years of experience and a South Carolina or Compact RN license.

Details

• Work in an Ambulatory Operating Room setting with 9 ORs
• Day shift schedule, either 3x12s (6:30a-7p) or 4x10s (6:30a-5p), with one late shift required per 4 weeks to complete cases
• No weekend requirements
• No on-call requirements
• Possibility of floating within the Perioperative facility
• Block scheduling may be accommodated at manager's discretion
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Uses Epic charting system
• May be required to precept a care team member in the operating room

Requirements

• Active SC or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Preferred surgical specialty experience includes Ophthalmology, Ortho, ENT, GYN, GU, Endocrine, and Surgical Oncology
• Radiation badge required, to be provided by the agency
• Valid driver's license and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Must reside within 60 miles of the facility to meet the local radius requirement, though non-local candidates are prioritized
• Local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate
• Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application, with approval based on facility needs
• May be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November, with peak activity in August and September)
• One shift may be called off per 2-week period, which may be split across multiple shifts
