Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ER experience and Level II/III trauma experience.
Details
- Work in a combined General Emergency Department treating both adult and pediatric patients
- 12-week contract assignment
- Day shift schedule (3x12 Hours), 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Level II or III trauma center setting
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- RTO required at time of submission
- Some holiday coverage expected
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required, pending license accepted at submission but must be active before start
- Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience required in a facility of equivalent size
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC
- NIHSS certification required
- NRP certification preferred
- Level II or III trauma experience required
- Recent ER travel experience within the past 6-8 months preferred
- Skilled in emergency care for conditions including cardiac dysrhythmias, CVA, respiratory failure, sepsis, and traumatic injuries
- Experience with procedural sedation, IV vasopressors, and emergency medication administration
- Proficient in triage, EKG interpretation, and PPE/isolation precautions
- Must pass an on-site drug screen including marijuana panel with no exceptions for CBD product use
Additional Information
- Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric emergencies
- Manage patients with gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, and multisystem organ dysfunction
- Perform splinting, chest tube management, and central line care as needed
- Must reside within 50 miles of the facility, local candidates not accepted
- Certifications and required documents must be submitted no later than 3 business days prior to start date
- First-time travelers considered as travel experience is not required
