Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring active IL licensure and at least 3 years of OR nursing experience.
Details
- Acute care setting in a Level 1 trauma facility with 15 operating suites
- Handles 25-45 cases per day across specialties including general, GYN, urology, plastics, robotics, neuro, ortho, spine, EENT, and cardiothoracic
- Evening shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 1445-2315
- 8-hour shifts with various start times (0645, 1045, 1445)
- Weekend and holiday call required, approximately every 3rd to 4th weekend
- Weeknight call required approximately once per week
- No floating requirements
- Uses Epic EMR
- Charge RN available 24/7 and does not take a patient assignment
- Support staff includes 1-2 surgical techs per patient and 3-4 CNAs during the day (reduced to 1 by 7pm)
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required
- BLS certification (AHA) required
- Minimum 3 years of OR nursing experience required
- BSN not required
- Scrubbing required for RNs
- Must be able to produce a negative drug screen for all panels
Additional Information
- Scrubs are provided; casual professional dress required when entering/leaving the facility
- Unit-specific orientation is 1 week
- Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at a reduced local rate
- No radius rule restricting eligibility
- COVID vaccination is not required for this position
