Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg-Telemetry Float position requiring Epic experience, a WI or compact RN license, and successful completion of a telemetry exam prior to start.

Details

  • Float position within the MS/Tele unit of a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
  • Cares for medical-surgical patients across cardiac, spine, and neuro units
  • Utilizes the Epic charting system
  • Works night shifts, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
  • Scheduled every other weekend
  • Holiday coverage required as applicable to facility operations
  • Required to float as needed, including to neuro and oncology units

Requirements

  • Active WI or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS certification (AHA) required
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty being submitted for
  • Experience across multiple med/surg specialties including cardiac, spine, and neuro required
  • Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the last 12 months
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
  • Must pass a telemetry competency exam (adult and pediatric) prior to starting the assignment
  • Prior travel nursing experience required

Additional Information

  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • Skills utilized may include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, chest tube care, tracheostomy management, wound care, IV insulin protocols, and IV therapy
  • Additional experience with ortho trauma, total joint replacement, pre/post neurosurgery, and pre/post hemodialysis management is beneficial
  • Parking permit required if parking onsite, though alternative transportation options such as bus and park & ride are available
  • Facility is ranked Wisconsin's #1 hospital and recognized as a leading teaching and referral center
