Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float position requiring 1.5+ years of acute care experience and a NJ or Compact RN license.

Details

• 13-week night shift assignment (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
• Works in a Critical Care Float role covering ICU, CCU, CTICU, and Step Down units
• Every other weekend required
• Floats to units within skillset (ICU, CCU, CTICU, Step Down) as needed
• May float to holding areas such as the ED for admitted ICU patients without an available bed (not for active ED patients)
• Patient ratio is 1:1-3 for critical care and 1:4 if floated to step down
• ICU and CCU units are combined
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1.5 years of acute care/ICU experience required
• Experience with Swan Ganz catheters highly preferred
• Preferred exposure to IABP, Impella, and VAD devices
• Previous CTICU or medical cardiology experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Skills in arterial line management, care of ventilated patients, and ABG interpretation required
• Experience with cardiac drip titration and dysrhythmia management preferred

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing across multiple ICU-type units based on patient acuity and staffing needs
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Must be available to work 2 of 3 designated holidays
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Previous RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the health system for a minimum of 1 year to be eligible for travel assignments
• Contract is expected to serve as the traveler's primary work schedule
