Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring an active IL RN license and at least 2 years of recent experience.

Details

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 7:15
• 13-week assignment length
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required, NIHSS and CPI preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with tracheostomy care and management
• Experience in telemetry and respiratory care settings
• Must provide a Nursys license verification pulled within the last 2 weeks

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit including monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and respiratory/tracheostomy care
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• RTO limited to a maximum of 7 days, with no more than 3 days off and no time off during the first or last week of the contract
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Block scheduling requests are not accommodated
• Former staff at any University of Chicago Medicine location (including Ingalls, PRN, or permanent staff) must have been separated for at least 7 months before returning as a traveler
