Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level IV NICU position requiring a minimum of 2 years total NICU experience including at least 1 year at Level IV and a WI or compact RN license.
Details
- Level I Pediatric Trauma Center with a Level IV NICU serving neonates from under 24 weeks to over 34 weeks gestation
- Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3
- Day shift (7:00am-7:30pm) and night shift (7:00pm-7:30am), 3x12 hour shifts
- Schedule includes Monday through Friday with 2-3 weekends required per 6-week scheduling period
- Floating required as needed
- Uses Epic EMR
- Care for post-op patients, g-tubes, trach/vent management, and various modes of invasive/noninvasive ventilation
Requirements
- Active RN license (WI or Compact) required
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required (AHA only)
- PALS certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years total NICU III/IV experience required, with at least 1 full year in a Level IV NICU
- Inpatient RN travelers must have 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty being submitted to
- Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the last 12 months
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Prior travel experience preferred, with at least one completed Level IV NICU travel assignment preferred
- Must pass pass/fail telemetry testing with strict passing criteria prior to start, including adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation exams
Additional Information
- Magnet-designated pediatric hospital providing specialized medical and surgical care
- Responsibilities include IV therapy, blood product administration, medication management, and neonatal dosage calculations
- Experience with UAC/UVC lines, respiratory support (ventilators, oscillators, HFNC, Vapotherm), and thermoregulation is valued
- Skills in managing conditions such as NEC, gastroschisis/omphalocele, neonatal sepsis, and seizure disorders are relevant to this role
- Developmental care and patient/family teaching are part of the daily responsibilities
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility as local candidates are not accepted
- Parking permit required through UW Transportation if parking onsite, with bus and park & ride options also available
- First-time travelers with Level IV NICU experience will be considered
