Description

American Traveler is hiring a Level III/IV NICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least 2 years of NICU experience, including 1 year at Level IV.

Details

• Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU setting within a Magnet-designated children's hospital
• Cares for neonatal patients including those under 24-28 weeks, 29-34 weeks, and over 34 weeks gestation
• Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00pm-7:30am
• Required to work 2-3 weekends per 6-week scheduling period
• Floating required as needed
• Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the last 12 months
• Manages post-op patients, g-tubes, and trach/vent care
• Utilizes various modes of invasive and noninvasive ventilation

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact license required
• BLS and NRP certifications required (AHA only)
• PALS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years total NICU experience required, with at least 1 year in a Level IV NICU
• Level III and Level IV experience may be combined to meet the 2-year total, but 1 year must be Level IV
• At least 2 years of acute care experience in the specialty within the last 3 years required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Prior travel experience required, with at least one Level IV NICU travel assignment preferred
• Experience with UAC/UVC, IV therapy, and administration of blood and blood products required
• Must pass telemetry exams (adult and pediatric) with strict passing criteria prior to start

Additional Information

• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• First-time travelers with Level IV NICU experience may be considered
• References are not required for consideration
• Responsibilities include neonatal dosage calculations, ventilator management, and neurologic, gastrointestinal, and cardiovascular care
• Skilled care areas include therapeutic hypothermia, phototherapy, and management of Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome and NEC
• Supports developmental care practices and patient/family teaching
• Parking permit required through UW Transportation if parking onsite, though alternative transportation options are available
