Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level IV NICU position requiring a minimum of 2 years total NICU III/IV experience with at least 1 year in a Level IV NICU.
Details
- Work in the NICU of a Level One Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU at a Magnet-designated pediatric hospital
- Care for neonates ranging from under 24-28 weeks to over 34 weeks gestation
- Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3
- Day and night shift options available, each 3x12 hour shifts
- Day shift 7:00am-7:30pm and night shift 7:00pm-7:30am, Monday through Friday
- Required to work 2-3 weekends per 6-week scheduling period
- Floating required as needed
- Uses Epic charting system
- Care involves post-op patients, g-tubes, trach/vent management, and various modes of invasive/noninvasive ventilation
Requirements
- Active WI RN license or compact license required
- BLS and NRP certification required (AHA only)
- PALS certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years total NICU III/IV experience required, with at least 1 year in a Level IV NICU
- Prior travel experience required, with at least one completed Level IV NICU assignment preferred
- First-time travelers with Level IV NICU experience may be considered
- Epic experience required, preferably within the last 12 months
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Must pass telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to start, including adult and pediatric rhythm identification components
- Skills in IV therapy, UAC/UVC management, neonatal dosage calculations, and respiratory support required
Additional Information
- Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill neonates, including those requiring ventilator management, therapeutic hypothermia, and neonatal abstinence syndrome care
- Support developmental care practices and patient/family teaching
- Manage central lines, arterial lines, and administer blood products, vasopressors, and other emergency medications as needed
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility as local candidates are not accepted
- A parking permit is required for onsite parking, though bus and park & ride options are also available
- Work within a nationally recognized pediatric specialty environment alongside a comprehensive pediatric medical and surgical team
