Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Level IV NICU position requiring at least 2 years of NICU III/IV experience, including 1 full year in a Level IV NICU.

Details

• Work in the NICU of a Level One Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU
• Cares for neonates including those less than 24-28 weeks, 29-34 weeks, and greater than 34 weeks
• Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3
• Manages post-op patients, g-tubes, trach/vent management, and various modes of invasive/noninvasive ventilation
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Day/evening shift schedule, 12 hours, 7:00am-7:30pm, Monday through Friday
• Required to work 2-3 weekends per 6-week scheduling period
• Floating required as needed

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact license required
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required (AHA only)
• PALS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years total NICU III/IV experience with at least 1 full year in a Level IV NICU required
• Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the last 12 months
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred, ideally including at least one Level IV NICU assignment
• Experience with IV therapy, UAC/UVC management, neonatal dosage calculations, and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP) required
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start, including adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation with strict passing criteria

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill neonates in a Magnet-designated pediatric hospital setting
• Perform skills such as arterial line management, central line care, blood glucose monitoring, phototherapy, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Support neonatal patients with conditions including respiratory distress syndrome, necrotizing enterocolitis, and neonatal abstinence syndrome
• Provide patient and family education and developmental care support
• Must reside within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• First-time travelers with Level IV NICU experience will be considered
