Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 1+ year of experience in cardiac cath lab procedures and ARRT-R or RCIS certification.
Details
- Work in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab and electrophysiology (EP) lab setting, with exposure to interventional radiology and special procedures
- Perform cath lab scrubbing, panning, and closures for heart and leg procedures, including device insertions such as pacemakers and ICDs
- Uses fluoroscopy, Philips equipment, ultrasound, and PACS systems
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- 5x8 hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday
- Call required including one weekend per month (Fri-Sun) and a minimum of 5 weekdays, totaling at least 8 on-call days per month
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of cath lab experience required
- ARRT-R with state license or RCIS certification required
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
- License required if applicable
- IR and EP experience preferred, though facility is willing to train
- Skilled in venous access, vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose), and central venous access
- Experience with EKG lead placement, sterile field maintenance, and equipment set up
- Knowledge of hemodynamic monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and life-threatening arrhythmia recognition
- Proficiency in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures including PCI, PTCA, TAVR, and pacemaker insertion preferred
- Travel experience highly preferred
- Must be able to complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting offer or have a completion plan in place
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include scrubbing and circulating for cardiac cath and EP procedures, monitoring patients, and maintaining infection control and sterile technique
- Facility conducts its own onsite drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana testing, and any positive result results in automatic cancellation
- Candidates should avoid any substances, including CBD products, that could result in a positive drug screen after clearance
- Local candidates are not accepted for this position
- Candidates must reside outside a 110-mile radius of the facility to qualify for the travel rate
- First-time travelers may be considered given required experience and certifications
