Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit/IMCU position requiring an active NY license in hand, EPIC experience, and prior telemetry step-down experience.

Details

• 26-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) functioning as a critical care step-down unit within a tertiary care hospital
• Receives patients from the Emergency Department, PACU, ICU, and medical-surgical floors
• Adult acute care patient population requiring specialized monitoring beyond a general med-surg unit
• All patients receive continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring
• Care includes airway management, acute BiPAP support, arterial lines, central lines, and titrated IV medication infusions
• Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 for MedSurg patients
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required
• EPIC EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand, no exceptions
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
• Peripheral line care and management experience
• Competent in non-invasive airway management, nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tank use
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols

• Adapt quickly to varying patient care needs, including specialized monitoring and emergent interventions
• Facility is a 528-bed tertiary care hospital
• Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy and white
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
• Returning staff must have a 6-month break in service system-wide
• Candidates with more than 10 days of requested RTO will not be considered
